Privacy Policy — Mobee RFID Inventory

This Privacy Policy explains how the Mobee RFID Inventory Android application (the “App”), published by BCS Bulgaria (“we”, “us”), handles information. The App is a professional tool for performing warehouse and stock inventory using Zebra RFID handheld readers. It is intended for use by staff of organisations that operate a Mobee inventory server.

Information the App accesses

• Inventory scan data. When you run an inventory, the App reads RFID tag identifiers (EPC codes) and associated item/article codes and sends them to your organisation’s Mobee inventory server so that counts can be recorded. This is business inventory data. It does not include names, contact details, or other personal information about you.
• Camera. Used only to scan the pairing QR code and, on devices without an integrated RFID reader, to scan barcodes. Images are processed on the device in real time and are not stored or transmitted.
• Bluetooth. Used to connect to the Zebra RFID reader (sled). No Bluetooth data is transmitted off the device.
• Location. On Android 11 and older, the operating system requires the location permission in order to scan for nearby Bluetooth readers. The App uses it solely to discover and connect the RFID reader. It does not collect, store, or transmit your geographic location. On Android 12 and newer this permission is not requested.
• Google Play Install Referrer. At installation, the App may read the Play install-referrer value to automatically configure the correct server address for your organisation. It is not used for advertising or tracking.

How data is used

Inventory scan data is transmitted over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection to the Mobee inventory server operated by your organisation, where it is used to record and report stock counts. We do not use it for any other purpose.

Data sharing

We do not sell your data and we do not share it with third parties for advertising. Inventory data is sent only to your organisation’s own Mobee server. The App contains no advertising SDKs and no third-party analytics.

Data retention

The App itself stores unsent scans temporarily on the device (in a local database) only until they are successfully uploaded, to prevent data loss when the network is unavailable. Retention of inventory data on the server is governed by your organisation’s own policies.

Children

The App is a workplace tool and is not directed at children under 13.

Security

Communication with the server uses HTTPS. Each device session is authorised with a per-session token issued by the server. We take reasonable measures to protect data in transit.

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above reflects the latest revision.
